Warehouse Associate/Backup Local Delivery Driver

About the role

We are hiring a Warehouse Associate/Backup Local Delivery Driver in Iron Mountain, MI. This position requires a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License, a valid Medical Examiner's Card, and either one year of prior Class B professional driving experience or a combination of one conviction and one at-fault accident in the last three years. The ideal candidate must be at least 21 years old, able to lift up to 75 lbs, and possess the ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

Required qualifications include a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License, a valid Medical Examiner's Card, Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications, and one year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last five years. In lieu of experience, a diploma from an accredited driving school and one year of prior driving experience within the last five years may be considered.

Qualifications

Must be able to read and comprehend material safety data sheets, lift up to 75 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment. Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours and frequently bend. Must be able to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

Skills

Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines. Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.
