Warehouse Specialist (Quality Control Evaluator)

Under the supervision of a designated Lead, Supervisor, or Manager, this role performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Candidates must obtain a license to use Material Handling Equipment (MHE) within 30 days of selection and will attend Transportation of Hazardous Materials training to become certified to ship hazardous material.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of warehousing duties, including rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials for deterioration and damage, and preparing materials for shipment.
• Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
• Verify materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
• Route materials to prescribed storage locations and store, stack, or palletize materials according to prescribed methods.
• Maintain QC files and address nonconforming findings with management, performing follow-up surveillance to assess corrective actions.
• Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other Government Data Systems for quality control duties.
• Inspect all phases of distribution processes for conformity to established quality and operational standards, ensuring compliance with contractual provisions.
• Operate under an established QC surveillance schedule, select surveillance tasks, and summarize results on quality control surveillance reports, annotating conforming or nonconforming services.
• Follow requirements of MIL-STD 129N and other applicable directives.

Requirements

• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
• Minimum of three months of experience in material handling, supply distribution, inspection, quality assurance, or related processes.
• Ability to use DSS and other automated distribution systems.
• Must be licensed and experienced in the use of MHE within 30 days of selection.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Work Environment

• Must be able to type using a standard keyboard for communication through email and software applications.
• Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
• Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee, and reach above/below shoulders.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects exceeding 50 pounds.
• Must pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
• Ability to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklifts, etc.
• May work in drafty, noisy, and dirty environments, including warehouses or outdoor settings.
• May be exposed to extreme noise, electrical shock hazards, or moving mechanical parts/vehicles.
• Required to handle dirty parts and lubricants and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice to austere environments under harsh living conditions.

Pay

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position with a base rate of $21.73 per hour. In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the Service Contract Act (SCA), you may be eligible for an additional health and welfare payment for each hour worked to meet SCA minimums.
