Warehouse Specialist

About the role

This is a non-union opportunity with Baker Electric in our San Diego region. As a team, you will help to ensure the warehouse successfully supports the field projects timely and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive trucks and unload tools, equipment, and trash.
• Maintain secured, clean, and organized storage areas in warehouse at all times.
• Properly store and maintain inventory accuracy of material and supplies.
• Stock warehouse with tools and materials in proper locations.
• Fulfill warehouse requests from field Foreman and stage in proper location.
• Support Shipping and Receiving team with checking in merchandise and applying request labels as requested.
• Inspect all orders for damage and missing items.
• Forward all incoming material delivery paperwork to your designated supervisor for processing.
• Provide back-up driving when needed.
• Provide support to various departments, including Tool Repair, Rentals, Fleet, and Facilities, as needed.
• Assist in addressing various facility maintenance needs, including but not limited to general repair work, plumbing, HVAC systems, lighting, furniture assembly, and departmental relocations.
• Assist in delivery of materials, tools, or fleet vehicles as needed.
• Conduct inventory assessments of obsolete or surplus items when required.
• Maintain, clean, and organize the company's warehouse and storage yards to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits and assist with repairs or the installation of new safety features as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of warehouse operations experience (picking / packing / staging / inventory).
• Construction experience is a plus.
• High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable and predictable attendance is required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company requirements.
