About the Role
Morcon Specialty, a TRG Company, is looking for a self-starter Warehouse Shop Tech to join their team. This position offers a great entry point into the Industrial Distribution Industry and involves a variety of manufacturing and distribution-based tasks.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments into inventory, including loading and unloading delivery trucks.
- Stock and maintain all warehouse locations, bins, and racks in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Assist with physical inventory.
- Operate basic mechanical equipment such as hand tools and measuring devices.
- Assist in the hose area with duties such as hose banding, crimping, rolling, cutting, or testing hose.
- Assist in the gasket and belting area with duties such as prepping material and using precision cutting tools to cut gaskets and belts to required shapes and sizes.
- Interact professionally with customers at the service counter or during deliveries.
- Serve as a backup driver for customer deliveries when needed.
- Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
- Operate a forklift upon certification.
Requirements
- Excellent motivation to meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Ability to read and understand work orders and job sheets.
- Basic mechanical skills, including the use of hand tools.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate basic and advanced machinery.
- Capability to push, grasp, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds independently on a repeated basis.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software.
- Highly physically demanding role requiring constant movement, including standing for long periods, bending, and leaning in awkward positions.
- Ability to work in non-air-conditioned facilities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of warehouse or production experience in an industrial setting (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently or within a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
Schedule
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Hours are Monday through Friday, with possible weekend hours based on customer needs.
