About the role
S&S Activewear is seeking a Shipping Department Supervisor to provide support to the Shipping Department Manager and Operations Manager. They will also provide direct interaction with all team members involved in shipping orders, provide assistance and guidance to employees on issues related to the shipping department. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for managing the end of the day cleaning duties, coaching employees, conducting team kick-off meetings, performing annual performance evaluations, and providing leadership to all department employees.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily attendance and performance employees' report
- Conduct team kick-off meetings
- Maintain monitoring of orders screen daily
- Maintain monitoring of employees breaks
- Responsible for accident investigation reports
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the shipping process
- Perform annual performance evaluations
- Provide leadership to all department employees
- Conduct employee kick-off meetings
- Verify and enforce compliance of the SOP’s
- Provide involvement in the planning and execution of special projects related to the Shipping process
- Prepare and host kick-off meetings
- Maintain monitoring of work flow and adjust practices as required to ensure quality and timely shipment of orders
- Act professionally and remain focused while working
- Safely operate all warehouse equipment
- Attend meetings as assigned
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Supervisor experience of 2 years in a team-oriented workplace, preferred
- Good interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to communicate and explain processes effectively
- Ability to coach and develop team members to achieve company goals
- Excellent organizational management skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime when needed
Qualifications
- Protective Equipment Required: Must be able to wear proper safety equipment if required (examples include safety toe shoes, bump caps and safety vest).
