About the role
Join the Staples World Class Supply Chain team as a Warehouse Associate. You may be assigned to any of the following areas:
- Warehouse Bulk / Material Handling Equipment Operator: Operate forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to pick and move product up to 100 lbs within the warehouse while adhering to safety procedures. Some tasks will be performed without equipment.
- Warehouse Porter: Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance inside and outside the facility. Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks) to move product, following safety procedures. Some tasks will be performed without equipment.
- Warehouse Replenishment: Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks) to pick and move product up to 100 lbs within the warehouse while adhering to safety procedures. Some tasks will be performed without equipment.
- Warehouse Receiving / Putaway / Returns: Confirm product accuracy, address discrepancies and damages, and communicate professionally with internal and external contacts. Manually unload trucks, palletize products, and operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks) to move product. Some tasks will be performed without equipment.
- Warehouse Returns: Operate material handling equipment to move product, match item quantities and descriptions to packing slips, check in returned product, and tag it appropriately. Some tasks will be performed without equipment.
- Shipping: Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets. Manually load trucks, lift and carry product in a fast-paced environment, and stack empty pallets while maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
Note: Associates may be moved into any of the above roles or SC1 roles as needed. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to ensure safe work practices and embrace the safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with colleagues and customers to resolve issues.
- Adhere to safety procedures and ensure safe work practices.
- Work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, or pulling boxes/merchandise weighing between 70–100 lbs.
- Stand and walk 100% of the time during shifts.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet or more as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) months of related experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible by law.
- Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to obtain Material Handling Equipment Operator certification.
- Must wear safety composite shoes.
- Full-Time associates must be available to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts, including overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or cherry pickers.
Pay
Competitive pay rate of $21.85/hour, including a $1.00/hour shift differential.
