About the Role

To oversee and coordinate daily shipping operations in our warehouse. The Shipping Lead will be responsible for managing the outbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to maintaining a smooth and efficient shipping process.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all outbound shipments, ensuring orders are packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on time.
  • Verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and packing lists, for completeness and accuracy.
  • Monitor loading activities to ensure goods are handled properly and efficiently.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the shipping team, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members and monitor progress to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Provide feedback and support to team members to improve productivity and accuracy.
  • Schedule pickups with carriers and freight companies, ensuring alignment with shipping schedules.
  • Communicate with carriers to resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or lost shipments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with logistics partners to ensure consistent service.
  • Collaborate with inventory and quality control teams to address any discrepancies or damaged goods before shipping.
  • Perform routine checks on outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of all shipments, including quantities, destinations, and tracking information.
  • Generate daily and weekly shipping performance reports for review by warehouse management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable shipping regulations.
  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols during shipping activities, including proper equipment handling.
  • Ensure compliance with local, federal, and international shipping regulations.
  • Conduct safety briefings and training sessions as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse environment.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
