About the role

The Warehouse Lead (Las Vegas Blvd) provides direction and support to Warehouse personnel in the absence of the Warehouse Shift Supervisor, including daily monitoring of dock and warehouse activity and routine personnel issues. This position is non-exempt and continuously supports Sofidel’s Employee Personal Practice Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary, and hygienically sound workplace.
  • Performs or assists with any operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements.
  • Notifies supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • Maintains a safe work area and complies with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping the work area clean and orderly.
  • Provides all forklift training in accordance with OSHA standards and requirements.
  • Communicates routinely with Shipping leaders, Customer Service, and Planners to maintain adequate inventory levels and storage of raw materials and supplies.
  • Supports Shipping management, communicates issues, obtains approvals, resolves problems, and maintains knowledge of requirements and policies.
  • Arrives all Drivers for Finished Goods or Raw Materials.
  • Assigns Driver Doors and Lift Operators to loads.
  • Maintains dock flow.
  • Assigns and checks orders and prints labels.
  • Communicates and instructs employees regarding work assignments.
  • Collaborates with other leads and supervisors.
  • Participates in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay updated on new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel and exposure to SAP or other MRP systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shipping/warehouse and inventory requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Requirements

  • Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception)
  • Sense of Sound (within normal range) and touch
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in plant and warehouse areas, including safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests, and hairnets or hats.
  • Exposure to considerable paper dust and noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can vary significantly from season to season.
