Responsibilities
- Work with operations management to ensure organizational safety compliance.
- Evaluate safety programs, provide recommendations, and implement approved changes.
- Conduct site safety inspections and audits.
- Facilitate, track, and communicate post-accident/incident Root-Cause-Analysis and Corrective/Preventive-Action processes.
- Maintain and monitor completion of all safety-related forms and processes.
- Champion KeHE’s Harm-to-None (H2O) behavioral-based safety program by promoting “all accidents are preventable.”
- Manage safety training schedule, conduct safety training, and ensure proper documentation is compliant in applicable safety areas.
- Facilitate safety activities including safety committee meetings, review accident/incident trends, and present safety opportunities.
- Participate in tactical planning and support of corporate safety initiatives, including implementing and enforcing company safety rules and Powered Industrial Training Program.
- Work with HR to manage workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs, including regularly scheduled work comp file reviews with insurance carrier and Corporate Safety Department.
- Oversee monthly random drug testing program with third-party vendor.
- Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Government regulations and safety compliance; strong working knowledge and understanding of safety rules and regulations at all levels of government including OSHA, Cal-OSHA, DOT
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
- Knowledge of the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous risk improvement
- Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Ability to influence, high energy, and enthusiasm
- Team player and self-starter

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to carry, lift, and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Required to sit, stand, walk, and climb frequently
- Subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm
- Exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise levels in the work environment are typically low to moderate
