Warehouse Repair - Nail Maintenance

Ryder is hiring a full-time Nail Maintenance Associate to ensure excellent craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Lakewood, WA.

About the role

Work with state-of-the-art equipment in a safe warehouse environment. Products handled include pallets, and equipment used includes hammers, pry bars, nail guns, grinders, and saws. This role supports distribution across the U.S. in a skilled or semi-skilled labor capacity.

Responsibilities

• Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards.
• Manually lift 75 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table.
• Complete minor repairs such as cutting loose nails or securing loose components.
• Operate a hammer, grinder, and saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together components.
• Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP’s quality control audit.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and complies with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Wear all required safety equipment while repairing pallets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 to 2 years or more in carpentry or a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to comprehend basic math.
• Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner.
• Must be able to follow the repair process.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day).
• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.

Pay

$18.00 per hour, paid weekly.
