Warehouse Production Supervisor - 3rd shift

As Production Supervisor, you will oversee and execute day-to-day operations for the packing, warehouse, and loading department, ensuring direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety. Success in this role requires the ability to:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute day-to-day operations for the department, ensuring direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety
  • Partner with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory experts to implement the most effective approach for complying with corporate safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications while providing recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Participate and lead process improvement initiatives including Centerlining, Preventative Maintenance, Pristine, 5S, and ELEMEDS (Every Load, Every Mill, Every Day Safely)
  • Partner with local plant management to develop approaches for meeting/tracking efficiency standards (scorecard and metrics control, total cost of maintenance, monthly review of compliance audits, etc.)
  • Develop planning for future production workforce needs and participate in the selection of employees
  • Take counts, correct discrepancies, and provide corrective actions/investigations to solve for any inventory count outside of variance range in the digital vs. physical count
  • Responsible for workforce engagement, recognition, development, and coaching of hourly members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or High school diploma/GED equivalent with 4 years of production experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience having leadership responsibilities in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety hazards and protocols
  • Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems

Skills

  • Knowledge of maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting packaging equipment and conveying systems
  • Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing and warehousing optimization processes
  • Reliability-centered maintenance training around packaging equipment best practices

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

With or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform work at a computer and other administrative/managerial tasks
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the operating areas (e.g., safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection, and at times, a respirator or a harness)
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a machine-paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions including:
    • Hot/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)
    • Indoor/Outdoor environment
    • Dusty environment (including Wheat/Gluten allergens)
    • Noisy environment
    • Frequent moving/vibration or other motion of equipment/processes
    • Elevated places
  • Ability to perform work safely which may require:
    • Frequently standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching or lifting at varying heights and levels
    • Frequently climbing stairs and/or ladders
    • Occasionally lifting, shoveling, and/or carrying
    • Occasionally pushing and/or pulling
    • Working in confined or elevated places
  • Must be able to read, interpret instructions and technology, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be willing to work alongside your team including long days (days, evenings, and nights) as well as weekends or holiday work
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
  • Must be clean-shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection

Pay

The starting range for this position is $74,600.00 - $99,444.40, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. The targeted bonus for this role is 5% annual.
