Warehouse Pallet Repairer

Ryder is hiring a permanent full-time Pallet Repairer at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.

About the role

Manufacturing and construction positions at Ryder support distribution across the US. You’ll work with state-of-the-art equipment in a safe warehouse environment, handling pallets using a Palamatic machine and rolling line.

Pay

Hourly pay: $18.00 per week, paid weekly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 0 to 1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred
• Ability to comprehend basic math
• Ability to operate power tools safely
• Must be able to follow the repair process
• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently
• Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements

Responsibilities

• Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards
• Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from pallets
• Use a hammer, grinder, and saw to remove existing nails
• Use a 25 lb nail gun to assemble pallet components
• Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
• Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP’s quality control audit
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards
• Wear all required safety equipment while repairing pallets
• Perform other duties as required
