Warehouse Packer (Pack/Unpack) - 1st Shift

SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. Today, SWD Inc. is a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, operating three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility in Addison, Illinois. About the role

This full-time position operates on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm) with occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Pack customer jobs at the pack 3 and pack 4 machines
• Hand pack when needed
• Unpack jobs for all departments
• Maintain cleanliness of work area
• Operate the wrap machine and roll sorter
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Practice safe work habits following outlined policies and procedures
• Operate a forklift
• Review and comprehend Shop Orders
• Be aware of SWD Inc. company policy and procedures, including the quality system as defined by QS-9000 and ISO-14001

Requirements

• Entry-level position
• Manufacturing experience is a plus
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment
• Handle heavy equipment
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Physical stamina and strength
• Attention to detail

Pay

$18.00/hour
