About the role
A hands-on, physical position responsible for packaging operations, warehouse management, and supporting daily brewery production at the Cazenovia facility.
Responsibilities
- Packaging & Canning Line Operations
- Operate the canning line from setup through teardown, ensuring equipment runs correctly and product meets quality standards
- Monitor fill levels, seam integrity, and packaging quality throughout each canning run
- Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and preventive maintenance on packaging equipment
- Coordinate with the brewing team on packaging schedules and production priorities
- Package finished product accurately and efficiently, minimizing waste and downtime
- Warehouse Operations & Forklift
- Operate a forklift to receive, move, stage, and ship raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods
- Unload incoming deliveries and verify shipments against purchase orders
- Organize and maintain the warehouse to ensure safe, efficient product flow and clear aisles
- Stage finished goods for distribution and coordinate with delivery drivers and distributors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment at all times
- Follow all forklift safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Inventory Receiving & Rotation
- Receive and put away incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies in the correct locations
- Rotate all product based on shelf life, ensuring older product is always pulled and used first
- Identify and report any damaged, expired, or out-of-place product to the Head Brewer
- Keep storage areas organized and clearly labeled so product is easy to locate and access
- Daily Brewery Operations Support
- Assist the brewing team with production tasks including grain handling, transfers, and cleaning
- Support vessel cleaning and sanitation between batches
- Monitor and restock brewing supplies and packaging materials
- Complete daily logs and production documentation accurately
- Communicate proactively with the Head Brewer on operational issues, equipment concerns, or supply shortages
Requirements
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification prior to start (training provided)
- Prior experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Brewery, beverage, or food production experience a plus but not required
- Ability to lift 55+ lbs repeatedly and work in a physically demanding environment
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including cold storage
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to showing up for the team
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, or extended shifts as production demands
