About the role
This position is responsible for providing value to our customer by accurately receiving, storing, and picking of product to meet customer and client standards of safety, security, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of shipping and receiving, including safe and accurate warehousing and re-warehousing of product
- Properly process and order pick designated products from warehouse locations, place product on pallets, and prepare pallets for shipment
- Load and unload trailers consistent with company standards of quality, safety, security, and productivity
- Ensure all received product is completely accurate and conforms to customer standards
- Account for inventory through movements of the warehouse management system
- Perform work at a high-quality level and resolve any errors through established processes
- Check or count products for accuracy and/or damage and infestation
- Participate in the Lean program and follow 5S manufacturing processes
- Identify pallet ID tags and document information by writing, matching numbers, and identifying correct location codes
- Accurately pick product (requires bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Participate in physical inventories as needed
- Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner; report all damage to product, equipment, or other company property
- Keep equipment neat and orderly in compliance with maintenance procedures
- Prepare all warehouse activity records in a timely manner and review operating goals and standards daily
- Keep warehouse and work area clean, neat, and orderly
- Assist in maintaining warehouse security and promote a safe environment
- Report all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards, or conditions immediately to a supervisor or manager
- Become knowledgeable with responsibilities of other positions as directed by management; act as backup during absences or vacation
- Fully participate in the daily stretching program
- Train and utilize Good Documentation Practices
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to add, subtract, and multiply
- Ability to type
- Ability to operate and/or drive all required equipment
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand on a regular basis
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
- Manual dexterity
- Good judgment
- Ability to speak and hear
- Ability to fully participate in daily stretching program
- Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment
- Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
- Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
- General distribution knowledge
- Normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye
- Hearing sufficient to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment
Qualifications
- Any warehouse, distribution, or order picking experience is beneficial
- 1 year of relevant experience may substitute for High School diploma/GED
- Good verbal communication skills
Pay & Schedule
- Pay range: $16-20/hr
- Hours: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)
- Duration: 12 months
- Employment Type: Contract on W2
