Maintaining a safe working environment
Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety rules and procedures, including the effective use of safety devices and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload railcars and trucks of bagged sugar to maintain inventory and meet customer needs.
- Unload boxcars and trucks of bagged sugar and store in the warehouse for delivery.
- Clean, inspect, and prepare railcars and trucks for loading sugar to be shipped.
- Prepare orders for transfer of sugar to bulk trucks to be shipped using gravity hoppers.
- Ensure proper sealing of railcars and accurate filling of paperwork for keying into the system.
- Absorb empty inbound railcars by cleaning, shutting doors, and removing deployed derailers.
- Maintain AIB and/or SQF standards throughout the warehouse and storage facilities.
- Aid in the maintenance, sanitation, and cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding grounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- One to two years of forklift experience and/or training.
- Specialized training in good manufacturing practices.
- Valid driver's license and/or State-issued ID.
- Site-sponsored forklift certification.
