About the Role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide timely and effective distribution and logistical support to the BSNAC warehouse activities, including inbound/outbound deliveries, internal transfers, inventory, and raw material inventory for production. The Warehouse Operator will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety procedures and perform all tasks safely.
  • Adhere to company standards and regulations at all times.
  • Fill common carrier orders and follow delivery schedules for loading.
  • Complete shipping documents and receipts in the SAP database.
  • Stage and organize materials and ingredients.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment per procedure, load trailers as per loading procedure, and complete loading paperwork.
  • Coordinate bills of loading/pick tickets for deliveries.
  • Assist in handling customer emergency requests for product or late shipments during off-hours.
  • Complete shipping documentation for order revisions to ensure customer service accuracy.
  • Document, inspect, and unload inbound products and materials per written procedures.
  • Count physical inventory and conduct cycle counts of all material stored in the warehouse.
  • Receive incoming materials and miscellaneous purchase orders, notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain the warehouse and dock areas in a safe, orderly, and clean manner.
  • Be flexible with rotating shifts outside of regular business hours, as work hours are subject to change.
  • Obtain certification on numerous types of forklifts and fork trucks (within 90 days of employment if not already certified).
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as batch or product code.
  • Participate in special projects as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned depending upon operational needs.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Computer skills: knowledge of SAP systems, Microsoft Excel and Word software, and online shipping procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Customer service-oriented with skills in positively resolving customer concerns.
  • Proactively respond to requests for service and assistance.
  • Attention to detail in paperwork; computer proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle detailed information and multiple tasks.
  • Forklift certification required (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment).

Schedule

1st shift, Monday - Friday.

Primary location will be at Midwest 3PL, with occasional requirements at the plant warehouse to cover operator absences and/or workload as needed.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to dry, dusty, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold or extreme heat.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
