Warehouse Operator, Clerk

About the role

As a Warehouse Clerk at DSV, you will support the inbound operation by managing label control, yard coordination, and administrative functions. You will communicate issues to outbound supervisors in a timely manner and ensure smooth, safe, and productive warehouse activities.

Responsibilities

• Label Control: Prepare, distribute, and reprint labels for carton/pallet pickers; maintain clear label flow; track and document all labels issued.
• Yard Coordination: Use Y/WMS system to communicate outbound pulls and plugs to yard drivers; assist supervisors in ensuring trailers are properly chocked and green light is active before movement or loading.
• Administrative Functions: Complete data entry for shipments; issue seals to loaders; verify seal numbers, trailer numbers, store numbers, etc.; prepare Bills of Lading (BOLs) for completed outbound loads; schedule LTL carrier pickups; print work assignments for replenishment drivers; file outbound paperwork.
• Multitask with a high sense of urgency; assist supervisors with compiling and tracking downtime sheets; maintain professional communication with management, peers, customers, and visitors.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist in warehouse security; secure seals and sensitive documents; distribute and collect tools and equipment; report issues to outbound supervisors.
• Follow OSHA and MSDS standards; promote safety in all operations.
• Use powered equipment, RF scanners, computers, and printers safely; follow company policies, guidelines, and ISO procedures.
• Work in varied environmental conditions (heat, cold, humidity, dust, etc.); perform repeated heavy lifting over 25 pounds; engage in repetitive motions such as walking, climbing, carrying, standing, bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, holding, and grasping.
• Perform other duties as assigned; work overtime as dictated by business needs.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in inventory control or warehousing administration.
• Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills; proficient with MS Office applications.
• RF Scanners: Proficient use of RF scanners.
• Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
• Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling products.
• Other: Strong attention to detail; ability to perform tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision; adaptability to change; effective communication; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
• 1–2 years of experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Physical Demands

• Occasionally: Bending.
• Frequently: Walking and standing.
• Constantly: Sitting.
• Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11–20 pounds; reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel.

Work Environment

Rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually low to moderate.

Pay

The expected base pay range is $23.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
