Warehouse Operator

About the Role

We are looking for a safety-driven, goal-oriented team member to join our production team. As a leader in food safety solutions, we protect the food supply by eliminating risks so families everywhere can eat without fear. This role is based in our manufacturing plant environment and involves adhering to safety policies, performing shipping and receiving tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized workplace.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and guidelines; be accountable for personal safety and the safety of co-workers.
• Follow written and verbal procedures and instructions to perform job duties safely and efficiently.
• Complete initial and routine safety, job task, and compliance training.
• Execute emergency procedures in response to chemical incidents, inclement weather, or other safety threats.
• Perform shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and inventory management activities, including driving forklifts to handle chemical packages (totes, drums, bags, etc.).
• Prepare finished products for shipment with proper labels and batch documentation.
• Ensure products are contamination-free, labels are properly applied, and containers are undamaged.
• Verify drivers properly secure loads and have appropriate DOT placards for materials being transported.
• Accurately record shipping and receiving information in electronic devices and on paper documents.
• Collaborate with team members across multiple departments.
• Perform daily inspections and report maintenance needs for equipment (forklifts, stretch wrappers, drum banding, yard dogs, isotainers, tankers, railcar/truck unloading stations, bulk product loading stations).
• Maintain a clean and organized workplace in compliance with SQF and housekeeping standards.
• Safely operate equipment such as PPE, forklifts, weigh scales, barcode scanning devices, HMIs, PLCs, and computers.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
• 1 year of experience with forklift operation.
• Experience with first-in, first-out (FIFO) shipping/manufacturing procedures.
• Experience verifying warehouse paperwork (shipping labels, lot numbers, certificates of analysis (COAs), etc.).
• Ability to understand policy manuals, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly chemical manufacturing.
• Job experience requiring adherence to written procedures, use of PPE, and knowledge of Lockout Tagout (LOTO) and Safe Work processes.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to wet, hot, and cold conditions, various shifts, and requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Constant (5.5+ hrs/day): Use of fingers and hands. Lift/carry 10 lbs or less & push/pull 12 lbs or less.
• Frequently (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day): Stand, climb stairs, walk, sit, reach outward, squat/kneel, bend. Lift/carry 11-50 lbs & push/pull 13-40 lbs.
• Occasional (up to 2.5+ hrs/day): Climb & crawl. Lift/carry 51+ lbs & push/pull 41-100 lbs.
