Warehouse Operative - Bridgwater

About the role

We are seeking motivated and capable Warehouse Operatives to support the delivery of engineering activities within the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C. The role will offer hands-on experience on a major nuclear new-build project within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. Working as part of an integrated alliance delivery team, you will support handling, organising and processing goods.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the unloading of vehicles and the checking in of stock
• Sorting and placing materials or items onto racks and shelves
• Collecting items from the warehouse/stores, preparing and completing orders for delivery/pickup according to a schedule
• Performing inventory controls via scanner and or through a computer
• Ensure all stock movements, receipts, issues and returns are accurately recorded
• Complete assigned stock checks and report discrepancies immediately
• Identify and report low stock levels, damaged materials and potential shortages
• Safely receive, store, pick, issue and distribute materials and equipment
• Ensure assets are correctly tracked, recorded and managed in accordance with inspection and certification requirements
• Comply with all site safety procedures, PPE requirements and safe systems of work
• Maintain clean, safe, organised and accessible stores and working areas

Requirements

• Driving Licence preferred
• CCNSG essential (In date with at least 6 months left)
• Effective communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary site teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines in a site-based environment
• Willingness to work within a highly regulated and safety-critical industry
• Previous industrial placement or site experience is advantageous but not essential
• Appointment is subject to satisfactory security clearance and background checks

Pay

The position is paid under ECSA agreements with the pay rate of £20.97 per hour. Possible opportunity to work on a non-working day at overtime rates. Overtime will not come into effect until your first full working week.

Schedule

This role will involve working 10:15-hour shifts on a 10/4 shift pattern, with start time to be confirmed.
