Responsibilities
- Under direction from the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager, organizes the mail flow on the production floor by assigning workers and assessing volumes and type of mail based on current staffing levels to meet postal deadlines
- Responsible for overseeing the production workers on designated shift
- Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Oversees quality function throughout the production area
- Assures TQM (Total Quality Management) processes and procedures are followed at all times
- Assists Operations Manager in completing required USPS and internal reports, job costing reports and application of all USPS postal regulations
- Assures clear and concise communication of pertinent information between shifts
- Offers suggestions regarding increasing efficiency of use of equipment, working conditions, and motivation of employees
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of one-year supervisory experience in any one of the following areas where familiarity of USPS requirements and/or regulations are applied (presort, mailroom, associated industries)
- Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a production or mailing industry environment
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and/or MS Access along with basic knowledge of MS Word, internet, and email
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, or current maximum allowed by your State
- Walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodation
- Based on operational needs must be willing and able to work as needed, including weekends, holidays, days off and/or a different shift with limited or no advance notice
Pay
$61,000 – $64,000/annually + 6% field bonus, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements and the location where you will be performing the job.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 10:30 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.
