Warehouse Operations, Driver-Days (BHD 7a-7p)

Responsibilities

• Operate company commercial vehicles within a ~20 air-mile radius to deliver and recover freight from customer locations.
• Verify shipment bills for required information prior to loading.
• Load and unload freight safely; weigh and check dimensions against shipper calculations.
• Sort outbound freight and load ULDs and trucks.
• Maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented towards maximizing efficiency in servicing customer needs.
• Provide professional customer interaction during pick-up and delivery (P&D); protect freight integrity and security.
• Perform order filler and checker duties in addition to operating the vehicle.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Perform inventory management tasks, including keeping appropriate records and reports to maintain inventory control and security.
• Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Participate in safety meetings and follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• Able to operate MHE.
• Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass federal/state/local background checks, clearances, and drug/alcohol tests (e.g., airport or TSA as applicable).
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• CDL or prior tractor yard experience is preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills.
• RF Scanners.
• WMS functions.
• English (reading, writing, verbal).
• Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
• Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
• Must be able to work as assigned outside and in a warehouse environment.
• Must have a clean driving record.

Work Environment

The work environment is usually low to moderate in noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
