Position Summary

Receives, unloads, and places merchandise in assigned storage racks. Selects orders from storage racks and transports to appropriate distribution center area using various merchandise handling equipment. Utilizes lift trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, Warehouse Management System and related equipment to perform duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receives and unloads merchandise from trailer and places in appropriate assigned holding area and merchandise storage racks while maintaining all safety protocols and productivity standards.
  • Selects and moves heavy merchandise to and from storage racks and within distribution center by physically moving (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, rolling) or operating crown lifts or other materials handling equipment.
  • Performs visual inspection of merchandise packaging and manual piece count of all items in each shipment immediately following the unloading process. Follows all damaged merchandise procedures.
  • Moves merchandise to appropriate or assigned location utilizing RF (radio frequency) barcode scanner to document work completed.
  • Maximizes available rack space by assessing the size of merchandise and locating an appropriately sized available warehouse rack location.
  • Performs rack and sprinkler inspections, cleans and organizes racking system as needed.
  • Perform regular inspection on power equipment and report any mechanical issues to departmental supervisor.
  • Performs all duties, including using and maintaining tools and equipment, in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Any function or responsibility as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School education
  • 0-6 months of related experience or equivalent education/experience
  • Must be certified through company Crown Lift Training Program to safely operate forklift and order picker equipment
  • Must be able to solely and safely lift and move materials up to 110 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate machinery up to heights of 35 to 50 feet
  • Must have basic communication skills

Pay
