Warehouse Material Handler I

About the role

Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Warehouse Material Handler in Morris, Illinois. The role involves handling food products using sit‑down forklifts and supporting warehouse fulfillment across the Ryder supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Carry out duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day‑to‑day warehouse paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all organizational levels.
• Highly thorough, dependable, punctual with good attendance.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, showing initiative.
• Demonstrate high accuracy even under pressure.
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work using health and safety methods.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule across various shifts.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.

Pay

$21.75 per hour, paid weekly.
