Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Warehouse Material Handler to support our facility in Lafayette, Indiana. We want the right Warehouse Associate to join us at Ryder and work in the safest supply chain environment with state-of-the-art equipment.

Pay

  • $18.00 an hour
  • $0.50 shift differential
  • Weekly pay

  • Frozen and perishable foods

  • Powered industrial equipment, such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
  • Valid forklift operator's license or ability to obtain certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to work within a diverse work environment
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Punctual with a good attendance record
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High degree of initiative
  • High level of accuracy, even under pressure
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule on various shifts
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
  • Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Accurately pick, pack, audit, induct totes, stage products, and load/unload trucks
  • Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core production hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
