Warehouse Material Handler-Conversion

Hourly Pay: $21.50 per hour

About the role

Ryder is hiring Warehouse Associates in Port Deposit, Maryland to work in a safe supply chain environment with state-of-the-art equipment, including cherry pickers, order pickers, pallet jacks, and forklifts. These roles support distribution across the US, handling retail items and various warehouse fulfillment tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick, pack, audit, induct totes, stage products, and load/unload trucks.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core production hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator’s license (certified).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse work environment.
• Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with a good attendance record.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
• High level of accuracy, even under pressure.
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must follow health and safety methods.
• Available to work a flexible schedule across various shifts.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
