Warehouse_Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler I position at Johnstone Supply is responsible for receiving, filling, and shipping products accurately and efficiently. The role involves a variety of warehouse tasks including receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts. The successful candidate will operate power equipment safely and efficiently to manage products.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and sign for freight for damage and verify quantities.
• Pick, pack, and ship orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare orders for shipment, including palletizing and wrapping.
• Maintain accurate records and document shipments.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts and other projects.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns.
• Follow safety rules and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Access Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed.
• Maintain required certifications and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0-1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
• Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
• Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.

• Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver large/heavy products or pieces of equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to attend to details.
• Ability to work with others in a team-based environment.
• Ability to complete routine paperwork.
• Ability to utilize necessary technology to complete tasks, such as RF equipment and ERP software.

Skills

• Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
