The Warehouse-Material Handler (SWC - Operations) plays a crucial role in managing the warehouse operations for South Western Communications. This position ensures efficient shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution while protecting warehouse contents.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the quantity and quality of incoming equipment is correct and properly received, unpacked, and stored.
- Maintains an efficient inventory tracking system and ensures minimum stock orders are met.
- Completes and submits warehouse documents and reports, including monthly inventory reports to management.
- Manages the return of unused job-related inventory to vendors or stock.
- Monitors the return of equipment to the warehouse and coordinates with service technicians for timely availability of required materials.
- Conducts vehicle inspections, including inventory verification and safety checks.
- Coordinates with service technicians to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Oversees daily operations and inventory management for the Columbia warehouse.
- Manages Columbia Warehouse Operations if a Warehouse person is out.
- Prepares and submits monthly UIM reports.
- Sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail/packages, coordinates building maintenance, and orders office and kitchen supplies.
- Serves as the Safety Coordinator, promoting and maintaining workplace safety compliance.
- Manages and maintains inventory records within Smartsheet.
- Prepares and submits monthly UIM reports.
- Assists in administrative tasks as required by the Regional Manager and assists office staff as needed.
- Performs quarterly and year-end inventory counts and variance discrepancies.
- Trains and coordinates with service technicians for timely availability of required materials.
- Manages and maintains inventory records within Smartsheet.
- Prepares and submits monthly UIM reports.
- Assists in administrative tasks as required by the Regional Manager and assists office staff as needed.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two to three years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent leadership and team development skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Above average computer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with others.
- Minimal travel, some off-site training to be performed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to read and interpret general business documentation.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements
- Intermittent (25%-50%) remaining stationary, moving about inside or outside the office or warehouse, operating transport vehicles, ascending/descending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, grasping, carrying, communicating, detecting, conveying, perceiving, judging, and being exposed to the environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
