Warehouse Material Handler

About the role

As a key member of the UCX Warehouse Operations team, the warehouse employee will perform an array of functions including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock. This position ensures the best customer experience by demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail while managing product orders.

Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed picking, receiving, and loading performance objectives.
• Maximize productivity by receiving materials and ensuring they are recorded and placed in the assigned warehouse location accurately.
• Accurately pick and fill orders to ensure customers receive the correct items and quantities.
• Inspect products for damage.
• Check pick sheets to ensure all materials are properly selected and staged for loading.
• Note any discrepancies with products or workflow and report them to a manager.
• Load trailers in accordance with proper weight charts.
• Build and assemble products by customer using load sheets.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area, exhibiting a “Customer First” attitude at all times.
• Perform regular safety checks on machines and other PPE equipment.
• Ensure all trailers/trucks are properly chocked and safety devices are engaged prior to entering a vehicle for unloading.
• Ensure all equipment is properly stored and charged at shift end.
• Cooperate, work, and communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, subordinates, and outside contacts.
• Follow established processes and procedures while paying attention to details.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous warehouse experience strongly preferred.
• Experience operating a forklift strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift and manage heavy objects, up to 80 lbs.
• Basic computer, reading, writing, and math skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
