Warehouse Material Handler

About the role

The Warehouse Material Handler works with the warehouse coordinator in the Milwaukee Shop, handling acquisition and distribution while helping coordinate workflow within the Receiving Department.

Responsibilities

• Completes incoming inspection per Purchase Order size and quantity
• Operates a forklift
• Reports delivery discrepancies to the warehouse coordinator
• Reports material damage at delivery to the warehouse coordinator
• Stages deliveries in designated racks/areas for distribution later
• Pulls raw materials from the warehouse to fulfill orders
• Delivers pulled orders to designated machine for processing
• Partners with the Mill manager and Warehouse coordinator to ensure coordination of all Shop materials
• Helps manage stock material level on a biweekly basis
• Helps cycle count inventory on a quarterly basis

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years' previous warehouse experience
• Previous forklift experience required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in problem solving/analysis
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, organize, and implement alternate solutions to challenges
• Strong sense of urgency

Working environment

This position operates in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. While performing duties, the employee regularly talks and listens, frequently stands, walks, uses hands and fingers, handles or feels, and reaches with hands and arms. The employee occasionally sits, climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls, and must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to see and differentiate color, and to focus.

Physical requirements

• Must pass pre-employment physical/musculoskeletal exam
• Must pass drug screening
• Must pass an audiogram test
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis
