Purpose Of Job
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all inventory movement in Distributorship’s warehouse including loading and unloading trucks, supervising 2-3 Warehouse Workers, ordering and handling bi products and Econos and processing cores.
Job Components
- Must be able to perform all warehouse jobs including: Receiving, Putaways, Picking, Replenishments, Packing, Palletizing, and Shipping
- Directs Warehouse Workers
- Ensures continuous process improvement
- Designs warehouse layout to maximize space utilization, productivity and safety
- Develops standard operating procedures and performance standards
- Manages inventory quality and accuracy assurance program
- Captures physical inventory process and cycle counts
- Develops stock location and order picking strategies to optimize work flow, space utilization, and labor productivity
- Ensures that operations are conducted safely and within the law
- Budgets and controls expenses
- Processes inbound receiving of containers or full truck, truck pallet shipments, and small parcel shipments
- Prepares and distributes operational reports
- Operates forklift and trains Warehouse Workers in safe and efficient use of same
- Full responsibility of inventory valued at $500,000 - $3.0 million
- Processes flow of 1.0 – 13.0 million pieces shipped per year out of the warehouse
- Manages staff of 2-3 Warehouse Workers
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years warehouse management experience including inventory control procedures and inventory/ accounting relationships
- Superior leadership, management, motivation and teamwork skills
- Strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills and able to work under pressure
- Working knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing and distribution methods
- Understanding of state, federal and interstate commerce regulations
- Strong computer skills
- Superior training and coaching skills
- Have keen understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements
- Able to operate motor vehicles
Work Environment
- Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 70+ lbs
- Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
