About the Role
Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication, and related supplies in the United States. We operate through eight regions under various banner and trade names, including Rexel, Rexel Automation, Gexpro, Mayer, Talley, and Platt Electric Supply. This role is based in Suwanee, GA, as part of the Talley team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Health and Safety Rules, and immediately address safety concerns.
- Provide leadership through direct and indirect supervision of warehouse employees to achieve high levels of accuracy and productivity.
- Manage inventory to ensure efficient warehouse flow, accurate receiving, and order filling processes.
- Oversee the annual physical inventory counting.
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment and maintain warehouse security.
- Evaluate policies and procedures to improve efficiency and make recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as the primary contact between warehouse operations and other managers.
- Communicate with customers and company personnel to resolve problems and expedite deliveries when necessary.
- Evaluate shipping and delivery via common carriers; perform cost analyses and negotiate pricing for shipping services.
- Assist the Branch Manager with the development of the warehouse budget and routinely analyze and control expenditures to meet budget requirements.
- Evaluate and negotiate pricing for warehouse equipment, maintenance contracts, packing supplies, and other warehousing expenses.
- Participate in seminars and training classes to maintain necessary business knowledge.
- Make deliveries to branches/customers as required.
- Perform other job functions within a branch when required, including counter sales and customer support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of warehouse leadership experience.
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
- If required to make deliveries:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
- Must obtain verification of a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
- Must not have had a suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
- Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
- High School diploma or GED required.
Skills
- Ability to perform job duties of all departmental positions.
- Thorough knowledge of warehousing principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Organization and time management skills; detail-oriented, able to prioritize in a multi-tasking environment, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Lean and Process Flow Layout in warehouses.
- Proficiency in using computers, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
