Primary Responsibilities
- Attend all scheduled company & safety meetings.
- Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices.
- Cook up and delegate daily work requirements to employees.
- Delegate duties and work assignments fairly.
- Develop and maintain consistent training standards and recording.
- Maintain inventory and keep accurate inventory records.
- Monitor plant/equipment trends, recommend ways to reduce technical stoppages.
- Attend, contribute, and recommend improvements to equipment design, project meetings, and operational practices.
- Create and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and management in a diverse work environment.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Lead various R&D projects for the company.
- Actively lead team with a hands-on style, willing to roll up sleeves and lead by example.
- Good coach and leader.
- Support management decisions and bridge the need to balance company interests with employee interests.
- Evaluate and recommend changes in methods and procedures to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery time.
- Apply company policies and assure adherence to company procedures.
- Recognize performance accomplishments and opportunities of direct reports and be comfortable in providing constructive feedback.
- Follow the normal disciplinary process, address and document performance issues with employees.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Working in a warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines, conditions may be heated/unheated and periodically noisy.
- Fast-paced, moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift.
- Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipment.
- Required to wear proper PPE in warehouse.
- Operate company vehicles including forklifts and yard trucks.
- Use of other tools and fabrication equipment required.
- Maintain consistent and regular attendance and punctuality.
- Must be willing to work overtime, as needed.
Required Background, Competencies & Expertise
- Experience in the use and maintenance of the tools and equipment necessary for repairing and replacing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
- Experience working independently to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve issues with process and plant warehouse equipment, and to develop and rapidly implement corrective actions.
- Experience training teammates on warehouse operations, quality control procedures and the proper techniques of instrument calibration and maintenance.
- Work with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
- Monitor production to resolve issues.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and positive can-do attitude.
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
