Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations
• Maintain record keeping and warehouse documentation
• Supervise and/or assist with loading outbound storage
• Supervise and/or assist with unloading, checking off, and vaulting inbound storage
• Set up trailers and straight trucks for both road and local work
• Act as company liaison when performing customers’ moves
• Strategically and effectively manage HHG crews on local moves
• Provide training for new hires and/or re-train employees to meet company standards
• Prepare reports, including trailer reports and inventory of packing supplies/office items
• Perform international wrapping, packing, loading, blocking, and bracing
• Prepare appropriate paperwork, reweighs, and documentation related to moves
• Maintain an organized and clean warehouse
• Assist with fueling company fleet, when needed
• Perform any and all job assignments as needed

Requirements

• CDL Class A and clean driving record
• Minimum 5 years of HHG warehouse-related experience
• Organizational skills
• Knowledge of SOP for international cargo
• Computer skills: BS, Microsoft Office, Internet
• Ability to become forklift certified
• Must qualify as a Mover
• Supervisory experience

Physical Requirements

• Must be DOT medically qualified (see “Medical Examination Report For Commercial Driver Fitness Determination”)
• Capable of working under pressure, communicating, organizing, and planning efficiently
• Must be able to receive, follow, and give detailed instructions
• Requires upper body forces up to 20 lbs., up to 160 times per hour
• Must perform various tasks, including loading/unloading
• Requires walking up to 1.0 mile per day
• Must be able to access tractor (20” step)
• Requires climbing stairs up to 1 step per hour in 20” increments
• Must drive truck to/from destination, tolerating seated posture up to 1 hour continuously, for a total of up to 11 hours per 14-hour period
• Must tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures while driving
• Requires near, far, depth, and color vision while performing tasks, including driving
• Must be able to pack and stack boxes with books, vertically transferring boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. from 1” to 36”, up to 8 times per hour
• Must be able to transfer pieces of furniture and personal items between residence and trailer, vertically/horizontally transferring items weighing up to 30 lbs. from 1” to 36”, up to 15 times per hour, a distance of up to 100 feet without mechanical assistance
• Must be able to use a dolly to load/unload bigger furniture, horizontally transferring dolly requiring a force up to 53 lbs., up to 12 times per hour, a distance of 100 feet
• Must be able to access all floors/basement of the house (7” step), climbing stairs up to 240 steps per hour in 7” increments
• Requires tolerance of standing posture up to 1 hour continuously, for a total of up to 8 hours per 12-hour period
• Must tolerate working environment with inside/outside ambient temperatures while in the trailer, warehouse, and/or homes
• Requires near, far, and depth vision while performing tasks including packing and moving furniture
