Warehouse Manager
Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager plays a key role in top-tier customer service. This position will oversee all warehouse operations including, but not limited to, personnel, order fulfillment, material receiving, packaging, carrier scheduling, and inventory accuracy. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires active participation in day-to-day warehouse operations as needed to support business demands.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises Warehouse Associates
- Promote a safe and courteous workplace environment by utilizing 5S principles and supporting warehouse organization.
- Lead and continuously improve the facility's safety program by promoting safe work practices, ensuring compliance with company policies, and fostering a culture of workplace safety.
- Lead the warehouse continuous improvement program by utilizing Lean principles, facilitating Kaizen events, maintaining the Lean Daily Management (LDM) board, conducting daily warehouse meetings, and identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Drive inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, inventory monitoring, and timely resolution of inventory discrepancies.
- Manage warehouse personnel through hiring, training, coaching, assigning daily work responsibilities, conducting performance evaluations, facilitating monthly team meetings, and managing digital timecards.
- Prepare freight documentation and coordinate shipping activities to ensure accurate and timely customer deliveries.
- Ensure the efficient utilization of warehouse personnel, equipment, storage space, and other operational resources to support business needs.
- Lead and coordinate the annual physical inventory process to ensure accurate inventory records and successful completion of inventory audits.
Cross Department Collaboration
- Collaborate with accounting, purchasing, sales, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, inventory transactions, and material receipts.
- Represent the warehouse in monthly cross-functional process improvement meetings to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and operational excellence.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, and customer service issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate warehouse priorities, operational challenges, and process improvements with leadership and cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
System & Data Management
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar software to support daily warehouse operations and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Operate within the Epicor/Kinetic ERP system to process warehouse transactions and maintain accurate operational records.
- Prepare, maintain, and verify shipping documentation, inventory records, and other warehouse-related reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Utilize the company learning management system (LMS) or company portal to complete required training and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor/Kinetic).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and customer-first attitude.
- 5S/Lean experience preferred.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).
Work Location
On-site.
Work Environment
- Warehouse setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature fluctuations.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
