Warehouse Manager
About the role
The Warehouse Manager will have full responsibility for the efficient, organised, and accountable management of the company's warehouse, inventory, event equipment, and assets. This role is critical to ensuring that all event materials—including furniture, décor, staging materials, equipment, props, consumables, and rental assets—are properly stored, maintained, accurately recorded, dispatched on time, and returned safely after events.
The ideal candidate must be highly organised, hands-on, firm, commercially aware, and comfortable working under the pressure and tight timelines associated with the events industry. Similar event-sector roles place particular emphasis on inventory accuracy, asset preservation, dispatch/returns, and coordination with event and logistics teams.
Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organised, secure, and properly zoned.
- Develop efficient storage systems for furniture, décor, equipment, props, and consumables.
- Ensure items are properly labelled and easily identifiable.
- Optimise warehouse space and minimise unnecessary handling and movement.
- Establish and enforce warehouse SOPs and operational standards.
- Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain 100% visibility and accountability for company assets.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all equipment and materials.
- Track all items entering and leaving the warehouse.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and comprehensive stock audits.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, losses, and unexplained variances.
- Maintain asset registers and appropriate tagging systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify items requiring replacement or replenishment.
- Event Dispatch & Returns
- Coordinate the preparation of materials for upcoming events.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Event Coordinators to understand event requirements.
- Prepare accurate pick lists and dispatch schedules.
- Ensure all items are checked before loading.
- Supervise loading and unloading of event materials.
- Ensure returned equipment is counted, inspected, and documented immediately.
- Record damages, losses, and missing items after every event.
- Ensure event assets are returned to their designated storage locations.
- Equipment & Asset Maintenance
- Ensure event furniture, décor, equipment, and other assets remain in good working condition.
- Establish routine inspection and maintenance schedules.
- Identify damaged or defective items before deployment.
- Coordinate repairs, refurbishment, and replacement of damaged assets.
- Maintain maintenance records for major equipment.
- Ensure assets are protected from weather, moisture, breakage, and deterioration.
- Team Management
- Supervise warehouse officers, loaders, cleaners, drivers, and other warehouse personnel.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor productivity.
- Develop staff schedules around event requirements.
- Train employees on warehouse procedures, inventory control, and safe handling.
- Enforce discipline, punctuality, accountability, and professional conduct.
- Conduct performance reviews and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to ensure timely movement of event assets.
- Work with drivers and third-party logistics providers where applicable.
- Ensure the right materials reach the right event location at the right time.
- Minimise transportation errors, unnecessary trips, and avoidable logistics costs.
- Coordinate urgent or last-minute event requirements without compromising controls.
- Procurement & Cost Control
- Liaise with Procurement on replenishment of warehouse supplies.
- Identify recurring shortages, damaged assets, and unnecessary purchases.
- Recommend strategies for reducing wastage and asset losses.
- Monitor the cost of repairs, replacements, and warehouse operations.
- Ensure purchases are supported by approved documentation.
- Health, Safety & Security
- Ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures.
- Maintain safe storage and movement of heavy equipment and materials.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is used where required.
- Prevent unauthorised access to the warehouse.
- Maintain appropriate fire, emergency, and security procedures.
- Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns promptly.

- Prepare regular reports covering:
- Inventory position
- Stock variances
- Damaged and missing assets
- Event dispatches
- Event returns
- Asset utilisation
- Repairs and maintenance
- Warehouse expenses

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience in warehouse, inventory, or logistics management.
- Experience in an events, event rentals, hospitality, experiential marketing, production, or similar environment is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing teams.
- Strong understanding of inventory and asset management.
- Experience using inventory management software, ERP, or warehouse management systems.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing event furniture, décor, staging equipment, AV equipment, props, or rental assets.
- Experience supporting large-scale events.
- Knowledge of warehouse health and safety practices.
- Experience managing third-party transporters and logistics vendors.
