About the Role

The Warehouse Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and distribution center in Moorestown, New Jersey, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping. This hands-on leadership role manages warehouse staff, enforces safety and quality standards, tracks key operational metrics, and drives continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations: receiving, put-away, storage, order picking, cycle counts, packing, and shipping.
  • Lead warehouse supervisors, forklift operators, pickers/packers, and general labor staff.
  • Monitor and approve employee attendance records, including time off, overtime, vacation, and lateness.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
  • Manage inventory levels and accuracy; conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, meeting service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Coordinate carrier pickup and receiving scheduling.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth flow of goods.
  • Utilize the warehouse management system (WMS) and related technology (barcode scanning, etc.) to optimize productivity and monitor operations.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs): order accuracy, on-time shipping, labor productivity, and cost per unit.
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety regulations; lead safety training, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Manage the warehouse operating budget, including labor, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
  • Oversee maintenance and safe operation of warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, printers) and facility upkeep.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching and feedback, and address performance or disciplinary issues.
  • Plan staffing and process adjustments for seasonal or demand fluctuations; hire temporary labor as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain all shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Manage receipt of international inbound containers and truck shipments; ensure timely unloading, palletizing, and put-away.
  • Ensure customer compliance labels are generated and affixed to product/pallets as required.
  • Oversee the Rework Area for customer returns, sample orders, and kit building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control practices, and logistics/distribution operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing hourly and supervisory staff.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and warehouse/inventory management software.
  • Forklift certification required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb for extended periods throughout a shift.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, handheld scanners, desktop PC, and label printers).
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to variable temperatures, noise, and dust.
  • May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday hours based on business needs and seasonal volume.
