About the role
Integrated Medical Systems, Inc. (IMS) is a leading national distributor within the alternate site market. This position involves managing and overseeing all warehouse activities, ensuring efficient processes, and maximizing warehouse productivity.
Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Promote and maintain a culture of safety throughout the warehouse. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and safety meetings. Investigate accidents and implement corrective and preventive actions. Ensure proper use of PPE, forklift safety, dock safety, and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Maintain employee training records and certifications.
- Receiving Operations: Manage daily receiving activities for domestic and international shipments. Verify quantities, product condition, and documentation. Coordinate with Purchasing to resolve shortages, damages, discrepancies, and vendor issues. Maintain accurate inventory from receipt through put-away. Inventory Management: Oversee replenishment activities to support uninterrupted order fulfillment. Ensure proper product rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) methodologies. Monitor inventory locations and optimize warehouse slotting.
- Picking, Packing & Shipping: Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Monitor picking productivity, packing quality, and shipping accuracy. Meet customer service requirements for on-time shipment performance. Verify shipping documentation and compliance requirements.
- Warehouse Management System (WMS): Manage daily warehouse transactions using WMS. Ensure inventory accuracy through proper system usage. Train employees in WMS processes and standard operating procedures.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Coordinate carrier appointments and transportation schedules. Balance labor resources based on workload forecasts. Collaborate with freight carriers and logistics providers to ensure service levels.
- Productivity & Performance: Establish and monitor warehouse KPIs including: Safety performance, Order accuracy, Managing Payroll to budget, Productivity, Quality Control. Ensure products meet company and regulatory quality standards. Manage nonconforming material and quarantine processes. Support internal and external quality audits. Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Customer Service: Work closely with Customer Service to resolve shipping issues and customer concerns. Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Maintain high levels of responsiveness for urgent customer requests.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Maintain direct communication with Purchasing regarding inventory levels, shortages, supplier performance, and receiving issues. Lead warehouse personnel. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback. Create employee schedules and manage labor utilization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Epicor WMS, Latitude WMS, or similar is a must.
- Experience managing all aspects of a stand alone DC (50,000 +/- SF) to include security, maintenance, and employee relations such as hiring, training and disciplinary actions.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, replenishment, FIFO/FEFO, shipping, and receiving.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety programs.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma preferred).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and warehouse reporting.

$75,000 - $85,000 USD (yearly)
