Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Lead daily warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and customer pickup activities.
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop warehouse associates and delivery personnel.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through receiving controls, cycle counts, stock organization, and inventory management best practices.
- Cookordinate inbound and outbound freight to support customer service and branch operations.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and DOT regulations where applicable.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping issues, and operational challenges.
- Monitor warehouse equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Partner with branch leadership and sales teams to support customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Aid in staffing, scheduling, and performance management activities.
- Support warehouse and delivery operations during peak business periods as needed.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
- Certifications: Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain) OSHA, warehouse safety, or logistics certifications preferred
- CDL and/or F endorsement a plus but not required
- Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred
- Years of Experience: 3–5 years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or related experience required 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Experience: HVAC, plumbing, construction supply, or wholesale distribution experience preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and distribution processes
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on leadership mentality with willingness to support warehouse operations as needed
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 70 lbs and work in a warehouse environment
