Warehouse Manager

About the Role

This position leads and supports Parts Distribution personnel and Warehouse operations, functioning as a working manager who balances leadership responsibilities with direct involvement in daily operations and team tasks. You will work closely with internal and external customers to promote superior quality, safety, and service.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily activities of Parts Distribution employees, including assigning duties, managing operational safety, scheduling break periods, work hours, and vacations.
• Support Parts Distribution employees by assisting with all aspects of assigned inbound or outbound processes.
• Create and achieve a yearly plan of objectives and goals for assigned inbound or outbound processes in collaboration with management.
• Maintain open communication with customers, employees, and Caterpillar to gather feedback, identify needs, and proactively address them.
• Operate forklifts and hand trucks to load/unload orders, transport parts and materials within the warehouse, and perform other hands-on tasks.
• Resolve inventory issues through appropriate company processes.
• Maintain profitability levels set by management.
• Travel as required for training or to assist at other locations.

Requirements

• Previous management experience with a proven track record of positive employee relations and staff development.
• Strong problem-solving and customer relations skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of all equipment required to safely perform Parts functions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
• Prior warehouse experience, parts experience, or experience in a related field (preferred).

Physical & Working Requirements

This role involves active work in a parts warehouse and distribution environment. The employee must be able to perform the following essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Occasional lifting of heavier items up to 75 pounds.
• Regular lifting and carrying of parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Standing and walking for extended periods, with occasional sitting.
• Frequent bending, crouching, and reaching at various heights, including overhead.
• Pushing and pulling materials or equipment with moderate to heavy force.
• Climbing stairs, ladders, or equipment to access inventory.
• Frequent use of hands for gripping, handling, and fine motor coordination when working with parts and tools.
• Maintaining full range of motion, including neck and trunk movement and rotation.
• Performing tasks requiring coordination of hands, feet, and visual focus.
• Operating warehouse tools and equipment safely (e.g., carts, lifts, or other department tools).
• Visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Communicating effectively to support team coordination and customer needs.
• Driving or traveling for business purposes, depending on location and role responsibilities.
