Duties & Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility of the execution, accomplishment and successful completion of order fulfillment, restocking and final delivery of customer orders;
- Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates the performance of warehouse employees;
- Develops work schedules and priorities for the warehouse staff;
- Oversees and reviews employee timesheets via the Company’s time keeping system to ensure missed punches, overtime and time off requests are addressed and managed;
- Aids with recruitment and hiring of personnel;
- Recommends promotions, transfers and disciplinary action for warehouse staff;
- Prepares, schedules and conducts timely and thoughtful employee performance evaluations;
- Develops programs and protocols that promote teamwork, skills-building and positive morale within the branch, the region and companywide;
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with company, state and federal regulations.
- Develops and enforces rules regarding security of the warehouse area to prevent product and equipment loss;
- Supervises equipment and vehicle maintenance program, ensuring that all necessary maintenance is properly scheduled, coordinated, and executed;
- Primary point of contact for RF Development Team and is responsible for implementation of RF Scanning in warehouse;
- Supervises Delivery Drivers and customer deliveries to ensure they are efficiently coordinated and executed to maximize timely and accurate delivery of customer orders;
- Supervises fabrication activities (if applicable) ensuring that personnel understand and are equipped to perform the work orders;
- Ensures that "Will Call" personnel are properly trained to provide courteous and valuable service to walk in customer(s);
- Recommends and implements process improvements to Branch Manager regarding the warehouse and how it operates;
- Assists with managing customer complaints and ensures they are properly and timely addressed according to company procedures and protocols, and initiates corrective action as necessary to minimize or prevent reoccurrence;
- Working with Purchasing and management, ensures that inventory controls are implemented to support the accuracy levels established for the period;
- Overall responsibility for the proper receipt and stocking of materials from vendors in accordance with established Receiving procedures and protocols;
- Schedules and conducts regular structured warehouse employee meetings;
- Attends operational meetings as scheduled by the Regional Manager a/o Branch Manager;
- Follows the directives of the Branch Manager and Regional Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- College degree preferred;
- Three + years of management or supervisory experience in warehouse operations and material handling, preferably in construction distribution;
- Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques, including skills leading the work of others;
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA standards and DOT regulations;
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and sound decision making;
- Ability to interact with employees, customers and vendors in a professional manner;
- Working knowledge of safe work practices and procedures for product receiving, storage, material handling, fabrication, shipping and delivery;
- Ability to use efficiently computer software for inventory management;
- Basic business math and computer skills;
- Effective listener with good communication skills;
- Exceptional time management and organization skills;
- Strong communication skills;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Certification in forklift training operations and use of basic hand tools and equipment;
- Ability to read, write and fluently speak English;
- Working knowledge of Eclipse/Solar software along with Microsoft Office.
