Responsibilities

• Safety-minded; satisfactory knowledge of forklift, yard dog, and safe driving practices.
• Ensure proper safety measures are followed while working on / around forklifts / yard dog, and follow safety procedures pertaining to the use of battery chargers, chocking wheels, etc...
• Report any forklift, yard dog maintenance needs to Team Lead.
• Good knowledge of both finished products and raw materials, and able to read and understand incoming and outgoing orders.
• Understand labeling and packaging processes.
• Load trucks to customer specifications; verify quantity, product, labeling and packaging is correct.
• General housekeeping of warehouse and dock areas; verify work area and product (finished and raw materials) are properly and safely stored.
• Ensure all trucks are swept and clean prior to loading.
• Support inventory counts, follow pick and put away plan, accurately maintain inventory records.
• Use problem-solving skills to handle situations that may arise.
• Lift up to 35 pounds, possess communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and possess basic computer skills.
• Knowledge and skills to operate lift truck safely and the yard dog.
• Ability to operate and accurately use a scan gun for warehouse inventory.
