About the role

As a Warehouse Lead person in Shipping, Package, Sort, and Bag, you’ll be part of our Decorah Operations team located in Decorah, IA. You’ll assist the Warehouse Supervisor in the efficient operation of the day-to-day functions of the warehouse, ensuring all shipments to customers are made on time. You’ll serve as the primary customer contact at the warehouse facility to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, train, and assist warehouse employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and housekeeping requirements.
  • Communicate and review performance requirements with employees; assist in their development.
  • Monitor productivity and quality of work performed by warehouse employees.
  • Assist in maintaining department budget and future planning needs.
  • Provide coaching and monitor performance of employee responsibilities.
  • Assist with department work schedules and assign tasks based on customer needs.
  • Assist in analyzing and documenting new employee training checklists.
  • Assist in assessing employee performance by providing feedback and participating in disciplinary matters.
  • Facilitate effective communication across all shifts and ensure information flow.
  • Follow the Company’s attendance and overtime policies.
  • Report and investigate maintenance problems; schedule maintenance with Supervisor’s permission.
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner and ensure employees are working productively.
  • Coordinate shipments with freight vendors and act as liaison between warehouse and customer service.
  • Train warehouse personnel to fully understand job duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure shipping paperwork is properly and accurately completed.
  • Ensure the Procedure’s Manual is followed and report quality concerns promptly.
  • Meet special customer-driven expectations and ensure accuracy of order entry and billing.
  • Communicate and cooperate with Supervisor and co-workers; assist in training new employees.
  • Perform duties as requested by the Supervisor; be available to work overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Human relations and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated with basic computer knowledge.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of warehouse systems, customer-driven specifications, parts identification, and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize activities, recognize unsafe conditions, and identify problems requiring assistance.
  • Knowledge of procedure manual location and contents.
  • Sufficient communication skills to assist in administration of company policies and procedures.

Pay

$27.99 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (2nd shift).
