About the role
This is a warehouse leadman position responsible for supervising and maintaining order in the warehouse. It is a non-exempt (hourly) position typically reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with Triple-S Steel job requirements and Safe Methods of Work.
- Overtime hours may be required to meet customers' needs.
- Move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane or other equipment.
- Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material and guide loads; climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material being loaded.
- Train new team members on will calls, deliver orders, check stock, use computers etc.
- Morning walking through the warehouse making sure material is safe on racks and exit doors are not blocked.
- Help check and pull will calls and deliver orders.
- Maintain equipment daily inspections.
- Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.
- Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
- Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations.
- Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- May be required to demonstrate strong customer relations skills.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Must have a good understanding of steel handling and storage.
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed to meet customer needs.
