About the Role
Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication, and related supplies in the United States. We operate through eight regions under various banner and trade names, including Rexel, Rexel Automation, Gexpro, Mayer, Talley, and Platt Electric Supply. With over 460 warehouse storefront locations nationwide, we are seeking a Warehouse Lead to join our Mayer Team in Dothan, AL.
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material while meeting company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. This role oversees all warehouse transactions, maintains the branch warehouse environment and equipment, and trains and mentors Warehouse Associates.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety Rules; address safety concerns immediately.
- Receive material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses; verify quantity and description against packing lists.
- Stock incoming orders on shelves in an orderly manner and report freight damage claims.
- Prepare branch orders from the warehouse, ensuring correct product type and quantity.
- Process shipment paperwork, including verifying merchandise, applying postage and labels, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring shipments.
- Operate machinery, including forklifts, reach trucks, and wire cutting machines.
- Load common carrier and company vehicles.
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Make deliveries to branches/customers as required.
- Perform other branch duties, including counter sales and customer support, when needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of warehouse or related experience preferred.
- Certification to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
- If required to make deliveries:
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Pass a pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Record review.
- Obtain verification of a non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
- No suspended driver’s license for traffic accidents/violations within the past 3 years.
- No at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
Skills
- General knowledge of electrical products is a plus.
