Responsibilities
- Knowledgeable of materials and material locations.
- Aid in maintaining inventory on consumables.
- Safely locate, identify, and pull material indicated on work orders using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Verify the size of materials and products with the use of calipers, a micrometer, tape measures, and the established color-coding system.
- Ensure that pulled material meets or exceeds Company quality standards.
- Follow all established Company safety rules.
- Create and model a culture of “safety first,” train others, and ensure that all associates follow Company safety rules.
- Document all materials pulled using the IMS process.
- Comprehend and utilize the proper tagging process.
- Understand the use of “Heat” and “Lot” numbers and properly handle related materials.
- Keep all material of the same grade together.
- Be knowledgeable of and institute proper packaging procedures required for different types of materials.
- Operate and safely handle cutting equipment.
- Inspect product to meet quality requirements and customer requests.
- Disseminate critical information regarding safety concerns, associate issues, customer service, and equipment matters to management and team members.
- Conduct and document monthly safety inspections.
- Understand equipment limits, coordinating all production needs to maximize the use of saws.
- Assist supervisor with respect to equipment usage and needs.
- Inspect incoming material to verify it meets Company standards.
- Process material returns and receive all inbound material from third party delivery services.
- Coordinate production, housekeeping, special projects, and stocking to assist shift supervisor.
- Ensure that daily checklists are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Carry out the policies outlined in the associate handbook for all warehouse associates on all shifts.
- Accountable for significant safety activities, including maintaining a safe work environment for associates, customers, and guests, ensuring that new associates are trained on the job hazards and safety rules prior to assignment of work, providing continuous training on proper lifting techniques, and enforcing all safety program rules, regulations, and practices.

Skills
- Practically apply proficient math skills, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Proficient in operating modern desktop computers, related software, and related modern office equipment.
- Proficient in utilizing IMS business systems.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Drive Company vehicles courteously, in compliance with all vehicle laws and regulations, and prioritize safety.
- Operate and safely handle various types of equipment, including forklifts, side loaders, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, overhead cranes, and basic measuring tools.
- Properly operate basic measuring tools, including calipers, a micrometer, and tape measures, converting metric and English measurements when required.
- Operate and safely handle power equipment, including a variety of saws and shears.
