Warehouse Team Lead
About the Role
Supports the Warehouse Operations Manager in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the warehouse run smoothly. Leads the warehouse team to meet operational goals, providing training and coaching to improve performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead warehouse team to meet/exceed operational goals by implementing strategic plans to drive efficiencies; utilizing key metrics to support performance and drive improvements.
- Review store product, transfer, equipment and supply requests at 2pm daily. Ensure all store requests are placed in the appropriate grid to be loaded by Ryder truck driver.
- Provide consistent feedback to the Warehouse Operations Manager and Ryder dispatcher to minimize delivery/pickup discrepancies to ensure service levels are met.
- Support the Operations Manager and Director to train, and develop team ensuring all positions are filled in a timely manner with qualified candidates.
- Guide and provide in the moment training and provide feedback to the Operations Manager to resolve employee relation issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Conduct monthly audit and review of product/trash sent by stores to the warehouse, ensuring adherence to labeling SOP. Communicate findings to the Warehouse Operations Manager as identified.
- Ensure that all product pickups are communicated upon arrival to the Warehouse Operations Manager and stored in the designated area for review and distribution.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse consistently. Ensure that all equipment is operational through consistent inspection. Communicate any findings to the Warehouse Operations Manager and Director of Logistics immediately.
- Ensure that Goodwill and Ryder employees are adhering to security protocols, partnering with Ryder Senior Manager, VP of Asset Protection and Director of Logistics when necessary.
- Ensure all opening/closing security protocols are performed every shift worked. Ensure that all Asset Protection protocols are adhered to, partnering to identify internal and external Loss Prevention issues.
- Provide feedback and observations to the Operations Manager to support employee performance.

- Lead by example as a Goodwill NYNJ Brand Ambassador to establish mutually beneficial relationships within the communities we serve.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Warehouse Operations Manager in their absence, meeting the same level of expectation.
Requirements
- Strong Communication Skills (written and verbal) with team members, leadership teams and colleagues.
- Flexible to work all shifts (nights and weekends).
- Able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Able to remain on feet for long periods of time.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
