Warehouse Lead
About the role
The Warehouse Lead position reports to the Distribution Center Manager. This role supports the management of the warehouse in compliance with the company's policies and vision, performing various tasks including but not limited to:
- Supporting warehouse personnel as necessary
- Performing all warehouse functions effectively
- Aiding with VMI programs as needed
- Unloading incoming inventory from trucks
- Stocking inventory into shelf locations
- Picking inventory for shipment to customers or vendors
- Conducting inventory cycle counts
- Researching missing parts to find current locations
- Operating forklift equipment
- Maintaining order release accuracy for timely shipments
- Ensuring product quality
- Consolidating inventory to optimize storage space
- Coordinating with other department leads for coordinated warehouse activities
- Training new employees
- Coordinating returns with the Purchasing and Quality Control departments
Responsibilities
As the Warehouse Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Directing warehouse personnel as necessary
- Managing warehouse operations to meet company standards
- Assisting with VMI programs
- Handling incoming inventory unloading
- Storing and retrieving inventory
- Preparing inventory for shipment
- Conducting inventory counts
- Locating missing items
- Operating forklifts safely and efficiently
- Fulfilling orders on time
- Maintaining product quality
- Optimizing storage space
- Coordinating with other departments
- Training new employees
- Coordinating returns
Requirements
- Educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of warehouse experience, certified forklift driver, working knowledge of OSHA regulations, working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Skills: Strong work ethic, experience leading a team, excellent written and verbal communication, ability to perform basic math, read and interpret documents, follow procedures, document information, work in a fast-paced production environment, troubleshoot and resolve issues, experience with an automated Warehouse Management System
