Warehouse Lead (2nd Shift)

Shift Details: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 11:00pm. Overtime is required daily until all tasks are completed for the shift.

Pay

Anticipated hourly range: $24.30 - $34.00 (includes shift differential). The hourly range listed is an estimate. About the Role

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. This includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management, as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing and controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. The role also ensures the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

The primary purpose of the Lead Associate, Warehouse Operations is to support the Warehouse Supervisor through either inbound or outbound management of the warehouse floor and to facilitate effective warehouse operations through direction of warehouse staff, in accordance with operational priorities. This role assists in coordination of receipt of shipments, scheduling of incoming trucks, and making internal appointments. It also involves delegating work among warehouse staff and producing reports on workforce productivity and quality. The Lead Associate communicates with customers outside the warehouse to address disruptions, provide updates on delivery timeframes, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Cross-training in multiple areas of the warehouse including inbound and outbound
• Breaks down cases of product and operate heavy equipment to replenish warehouse
• Palletizes large items to skid and wrap for shipment
• Drives material handling equipment as required by job duty (e.g., order picker, forklift, reach truck, pallet jacks)
• Accurately performs multiple operational tasks assigned to the individual
• Demonstrates basic material handling, packaging, and warehouse equipment skills
• Performs one or more warehouse operations functions within the operating guidelines of the facility
• Demonstrates effective oral communication skills
• Follows standard operating procedures to assess inventory levels, submit orders, and audit warehouse operations
• Directs workflows on the warehouse floor, including packing, unloading, shipping, and managing delivery schedules
• Analyzes internal data and reports on productivity and efficiency to identify performance trends
• Coordinates with Warehouse Supervisors to align on warehouse and inventory priorities
• Assists in inbound and outbound workload forecasting through historical and trend analysis
• Assists in inventory management, stocking, and shipping as necessary

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 4+ years of related experience preferred
• Previous material handling equipment (MHE) experience preferred
• Prior knowledge of Manhattan Warehouse Management System is highly preferred
• Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice-to-pick experience highly preferred
• Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs and bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more
• Must be able to work overtime with little or no advance notice
• Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse
• Work at heights up to 25 feet consistently
• Adherence to site safety regulations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toed safety shoes, material handling equipment safety harness)
• Aptitude to work in a fast-paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established distribution quotas and performance standards
• Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision and an emphasis on customer satisfaction
• Ability to comprehend and accurately process paperwork in accordance with policies and procedures
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and general computer skills desired
• Flexibility, adaptability, and good multi-tasking skills
• May also require material handling equipment certification
