About the role
The Warehouse Inventory Control Specialist coordinates and performs the shipping and receiving of material within the warehouse and yard. This role manages and maintains incoming and outgoing government, commercial, and company property, and maintains an inventory of office consumables along with shipping and packaging items.
Responsibilities
- Ensures an accurate and timely response to material inquiries, performing inventory reconciliations, material kitting, maintaining control and reporting systems, and any shipping/receiving documentation required by management, the customer, or the project.
- Leads and implements best practices for accurately tracking and recording the data associated with all materials and the efficient and effective management for all deliveries and shipments.
- Maintains a well-ordered and safe work environment in the warehouse, staging areas, and the yard.
- Maintains and enters data accurately in enterprise systems.
- Maintains systems and processes for tracking and reporting materials and equipment.
- Verifies purchase requisition and purchase order details against the delivery paperwork.
- Verifies quantity of shipment received against the order and project.
- Works with Program, Project, and Construction Managers and Field Service and Customer Representatives on material deliveries, performing system setup, configurations and testing.
- Kitting of material for delivery to the projects and staging areas.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date data documentation on all shipments both in and out of the warehouse.
- Schedules transportation for delivery of materials and kits to the project site.
- Ensures safety of shipment by using appropriate packaging and handling methods in accordance with best practices.
- Maintains accurate inventory records and logs.
- Supports the Warehouse and Fleet Manager in specialty projects or work tasks as assigned.
- Operates a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations. Operates the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. Keeps assigned vehicle clean and orderly. Reports maintenance requirements and/or damage in a timely manner.
- Supports safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections.
- Reports accurately timecard updates daily and signs timecards weekly as required to support reporting and payroll activities.
- Create and maintain quality logs, non-conformance logs and marks material in accordance with its disposition, project, and construction manager or assigned project personnel.
- Complete daily reports and timecards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED.
- Associate or advanced degree (preferred).
- Minimum two (2) years of Inventory Management experience required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of forklift operating experience.
- Minimum one (1) year warehouse support experience required.
- Current driver’s license.
- Certification in Logistics or Inventory Control (preferred).
